Better late than never! Here is the overview of our learning for this term.

Welcome to Cedars 2015-16!

Our class has 28 children. 8 of these are Reception children, known as our Red Acorns. They line up and register with us in the morning and at lunchtime, then they go to spend their day in the Acorns classroom following the Foundation Stage curriculum.

 

Our 20 year 1 children follow the same 2014 National curriculum as Maples year 1 children.

 

 

Key Days

 

Monday is our library day.

 

Homework is set on a Thursday and should be returned on Tuesday.

 

Show and tell sessions are alternate Wednesdays. No toys please! (7th & 21st October, 4th & 18th November, 2nd & 16th December)

 

Spellings will be tested on a Thursday.

 

This term our PE day is Thursday. Next term it will be Wednesday and Thursday.

 

Well done New Zealand! Just before half term Cedars Year 1 watched the Haka and discussed the facial expressions we could see. The children chose 3 expressions and then added Maori tattoos.

Please note that Mrs Summers no longer gives house points for homework. Instead, children who complete the homework and hand in on Tuesday will have a sticker.

Wow! Mrs Summers and Miss Cowdell are really impressed with the drip paintings Cedars and Maples did in the style of Jackson Pollock.
