Key Things to Note
Fridays: Visit school-library, spelling test and Big Maths!
Children should come into school with a reusable water bottle which they can refill at the water- fountain during break times or in class.
- As well as the half termly homework grid, your child should also be encouraged to read every evening. Children would try reading books from different authors; as well as both fiction and non fiction. Children are encouraged to share their favourite book with the class.
- Photocopies of your child's Big Maths will go out on a Monday, which you can look through and work together with. If there are any difficulties with the questions then children should attempt and feed back their difficulties/ questions to the class teacher.
- Speedy recall of the times tables, is still imperative as it is the fountain needed for quick and accurate calculations. Practise makes perfect!
- Children will get a weekly spelling list which they should practise as often as they can; both orally and written. A list of different spelling strategies is stuck inside their book. Children should bring their spelling book into school on a Friday.
