This half term we will be visiting investigating our local area of Bracknell and just what makes it tick! We will be studying local buildings, mapping different routes and researching the animals that make this their home alongside us. This busy Summer term we have a very busy itinerary with a variety of events and activities. Please keep up to date with the newsletter or ask Mrs Wade if you have any questions about timings or dates.
This half term our topic is the Tudors! This is always a really exciting topic to study, made all the more real by our excellent trip to Ufton Court!! We are going from the 11th to the 13th of May! We will be learning all about the Tudors, the Kings and Queens, the rich and poor, their buildings and art, even their music and dancing in preparation from our trip.
This is a super short half term, with only four and a half weeks until the Easter holidays! We will be working hard on our literacy and maths, in particular focusing on reading comprehension and how to answer those tricky questions! See the curriculum overview map for more information on what we will be getting up to.
After a busy advent term, we will be continuing our geography topic of Europe and beginning to wider our research to the wider world. We will be looking at and making maps, learning countries and capital cities and investigating the culture and climate of different continents.
This half term, we will be learning all about Europe. We are so excited to learn about the different countries and cities of Europe. We will be looking at their languages, customs and traditions, as well as practising how to locate them on a map. We started our topic by inventing our own country and writing a story about us ending up there after a hot air balloon ride, with some fantastically creative results!
This half term we are going to learning all about the Normans, including a special focus on the Baqeux tapestry....watch this space!
