Welcome Back 2020/21 Year 3’s!

I can’t believe how quickly the beginning of another year at school has come around! I hope everybody is ready for a fantastic year- full of learning.

Our main topic this term is The Early Settlers (Stone Age/Bronze Age/Iron Age). I absolutely love this topic as there is lots of opportunity for fun. We will be exploring how early settlers lived and survived. Next half-term, we may even be making our own tools and weapons…

A few “housekeeping” things to remember: PE is everyTuesday and Wednesday, children need to wear their kit to school, most sessions will be outdoors so please make sure clothes are appropriate for the weather (white t-shirt, black shorts, suitable footwear and a plain dark tracksuit if it’s colder). I will be sending home weekly spellings every Friday. These are to be returned by the following Thursday in preparation for a weekly spelling test on Fridays. Spellings can be found each week below (printable) if somehow they should be misplaced by your child!

We will set a new homework grid each half term. We will provide a homework book for every child. Your child will be expected to choose a minimum of four activities to be handed in the week prior to each school holiday for marking/feedback. Homework grids can be found each half term below (printable) if somehow they should be mispalced by your child!

I will be out on the playground daily so if you need to speak to me feel free to catch me then or, if you need a little longer or somewhere quieter to speak, please make an appointment via the office.

Many thanks

Mr Furber
