How do I become a Governor?

Current Governor Vacancies

We currently have vacancies for the following Governors:

• Parent Governor - to be elected by parents in the Summer Term 2019, for more information see below.
• PCC/Diocesan Governors - appointed by St Michael and St Mary Magdalene PCC - more information to follow, or contact Sharon Mobbs, Julie Skinner or Marion Gunning.
• Co-opted Governors - discretionary appointments by the Governing Body where there are skill gaps.

In addition general governor information is available through the Bracknell Forest Council website via http://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/schoolgovernors.

What does a Governor actually do?

The website Governors for Schools has a great page to give information on what Governors do for their schools. It shows that Governors come from all different backgrounds, but they draw on their knowledge and skills to support the school in achieving all its outcomes.
