The Good News – 15th November
Our School Vision links to the Good Samaritan—to help and care for each other
Dear Parents and Carers,
We all had a fun time at the disco last night! The neon face paints looked amazing and many of the children enjoyed showing off their latest dance moves! It was lovely to see, even the quietest of boys and girls, joining in and enjoying the music. Thank you to our wonderful PTA who worked hard to organise the event and to all the staff who stayed on to help.
The school has been full of spots and bright yellow people today (with Miss Kearney DEFINITELY being the brightest)! The children have been so proud to give their donations in for ‘Children in Need’ and we talked, in Assembly, about how their money would help another child who was going through a difficult time at the moment. I have seen some fabulous Pudsey Bear pictures being decorated and everybody had a lovely day.
We raised £213.80 today!
Remembrance Day was another big event this week and I saw an impressive assortment of uniforms around St Michael’s! This sparked off a lot of discussions about badges and what they had to do to earn them. We all kept the 2 minute silence at 11.00 and we talked about the significance of the poppy and why this day is so special.
Year Six have been full of chatter about their trip to RAF Hendon yesterday. The group of girls I spoke to said the best part was the Victorian Classroom – they had to write with real ink pens and the teacher wore a gown and carried a cane! It’s fascinating to think how times have changed and yet many of the children claim they would love school to still be like this now!!!
I’m continually seeing people living out our Good Samaritan vision and caring for others who are upset, sick or hurt. It makes me so proud to be their Headteacher – we really are like one, big family.
Enjoy your weekend,
If you had to give everyone in the family new names, what would they be?
