I am extremely excited to begin this year in Year 3 and it is great to see all the children back safe and well after the summer break. There is lots of hard work ahead, but I'm determined to make it a year full of fun learning and give them a solid introduction to a new key stage.
There's too much going on to list it all here, but a few things to point out to help things run smoothly. The children will need PE kit in school (black shorts and a white t-shirt for indoors with a plain dark tracksuit style clothing and sensible footwear for outdoor sessions) every WEDNESDAY please. Also, for just the first half-term, they will need their outdoor PE kit on Tuesdays as Bracknell Forest are sending a Tag Rugby coach in to work with the class and Mr Saunders will be assisting him.
Homework will come out every Friday to be returned by the following Thursday. I try not to set too much, but do expect the children to read and practice mental maths skills daily too if at all possible.
Reading books can be changed every Friday during our reading/comprehension session in the afternoon during the school day. As a general rule I am flexible if children want to change their books more often, they just have to ask me.
All key dates will be posted on the weekly newsletter so please do look out for them.
Other than that we will set out on getting down to the hard work needed in Year 3. If you do need to speak to me please try to catch me before or after school in the playground or else pop in to the office to make an appointment if a little more time or privacy is needed.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year with the class and hope that they and you are too.
All the best
