So, we are entering the last half-term of Year 6's primary school years! It only seems like yesterday that they were little infants in our school and now they are preparing to leave for pastures new.
Â
There are many important things happening in this half-term with the trip to the Beacon Centre (Monday 19th to Friday 23rd June), Transition Days in Secondary Schools, visits from those schools, Leavers' Service and BBQ/Party amongst many others. More details about each will be out very soon so please watch this space for updates very soon.
Â
The other important issue this half-term is Sex and Relationships Education. This is delivered using the BBC's Growing Up programme which consists of 3 short films and then a follow up talk - boys with Mr Saunders; girls with a female member of staff - answering any questions that may arise. I'm sure that you'll get some questions from your children too! If you have any questions about the content or are considering removing your child from the sessions (you have the right to do so if you wish) please speak to me before the Beacon Centre trip.
Â
In terms of day to day details, the children will still need their outdoor PE Kits on Wednesdays with Achieve Sports. Indoor PE is also be on a Wednesday with EPC.
Â
I will try my best to keep you up to date with everything else as it goes on, but, as always, if any parents or carers want to speak to me about something to do with their child's schooling or issues that may have an effect on them whilst in school please feel free to try to catch me on the playground for something quick or make an appointment via the office if you need a longer chat.
Â
Â
Best wishes to you all
