Phonics

We follow the FFT Success for all phonics programme.  Every morning the children from Reception, Year 1 and some of Year 2 work in classes - and small groups as necessary - working on phonics for 30 minutes.  We follow the same routine each day so the children don't need to learn new activities but they can focus on the day's learning.  In the afternoon the children are taught a reading session where they can put their phonics learning into practice, this is also for 30 minutes.  Teachers link the phonics learning throughout the lessons of the day to support their understanding.
